Various Vacancies in Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat

Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat is going to fill up the post of Chief Librarian through engaging experienced persons retired as Senior/Deputy or Chief Librarian from a reputed university/institution. The interested candidates may apply for the same within the presecribed time frame.

1)  Chief Librarian*

Pay :  As applicable to retired person either in the Scale of Rs. 12,000- 40,000/ Or Rs. 37,400/- 67,000/-  for those having UGC requirement.

Qualification :
Essential :
i) Bachelor’s degree in any field of study followed by :
ii) At least Second Class Master’s degree in Library Science of  a recognized university with at least 50% marks, (iii) 15 years service  experience in Library of which at least 5 years in the rank of Dy. Librarian or in  an equivalent rank in a University or such institutions (iv) Evidence of initiative and ability to plan, organize, administer University Library.

Desirable :
Doctorate degree in Library Science or equivalent published research work , (ii) experience of modern retrieval and reprographic techniques and (iii) experience of teaching and/or handling needs of post graduate students/research works (iv) working experience under University system.

2) Programme Co-ordinator, KVK

Pay scale : Rs. 15,600/-to 39,100 + Grade pay 8000  (revised)

Essential Qualifications :
  •     10th and 12th standard with at least 55% marks in aggregate at  each levels.
  •     Bachelor’s degree in  any of the above subjects with OGPA at least 7.00 in 10.00 scale or equivalent mark followed by Master’s degree in the relevant subject.
  •     55% marks or an equivalent OGPA of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scales at the Master’s degree level from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
  •     5 years of service experience in the rank of Assistant Professor in teaching/research/extension excluding periods spent for obtaining Ph.D. degree.
  •     Ph.D. degree in any field of the concerned discipline.
  •     Has made some mark in areas of scholarships as evidenced by quality of publications in relevant discipline, contribution to educational / extension innovation, design of new courses and curricula etc. Quality of publications shall be judged as per list published by National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi.
Note  : Minimum marks under i, ii, & iii  above are relaxable in case of     regularly   appointed in service candidates of AAU.

General Instructions:

1) Age limit as on 01.01.2011 for the posts of Programme Co-ordinator 38 years (maximum). The age is relaxable by the number of full years of service rendered in AAU/ICAR/CSIR/DST/ SAUs/ Pvt./ Govt. Institutions up to a maximum of 5(five) years.

2) Submission of application forms:

Application form in prescribed format is to be submitted to the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before, 10th October ,2011. BANK DRAFT of Rs.150/- in case of general candidates and Rs.75/- in case of SC/ST candidates must accompany with the application forms. Reservation shall be as per Government of Assam Rules. In service candidates must send their application through proper channel. Applications received late and found incomplete will not be considered. A self addressed stamped (worth Rs.6/-) envelope size 23 cm x 10 cm should be sent along with the application form.
